It always has been.

When I was going through and asking family and friends for 3 words they would use to describe me, I reached out to a priest who is a friend of the family, Fr. Gjengdahl.

Within minutes he replied, and gave me a little homily.

"...the three I would say of you, and any baptized person: Child of God.

I believe now, more than ever, we need to remind all people that their fundamental 'identity'

IS being a loved child of God. 

Than all those other 'identities' that are out there disappear and we can know who we are."

It was a great reminder of who I really am.

Yet while I know this to be true, while I know that my faith is most important, it is far too easy to get overwhelmed with the rest of life and let faith slowly fall down my list of priorities.

My faith doesn't make my life easier. 

It is a choice I have to make every single day.

When it is hard, when I feel further from God, it can be incredibly difficult to choose Him over myself.

​

My faith has gotten me through the most difficult times in my life.

No matter the circumstances, I will never truly be hopeless.

I don't know who or where I would be without my faith.

I don't want to know.

​

I don't need to wonder.

I am a child of God.
